In the morning you can watch the mist rising slowly from the valley floor. If you’re still, you might hear or even catch a glimpse of deer or wild turkey. From the wrap-around, fern-lined porches you can enjoy the rockers & porch swings while taking in the stunning beauty of the Blue Ridge panorama.
That the day you can hike the trails or even ride them on horseback. You can even bring your own horses and put them up at Leatherwood’s Stables. The community pool and tennis courts are also available seasonally. You can take the back road into Boone or the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can spend the day skiing at the nearby resorts. Just loafing around is always good fun.
Later in the evening you can soak in the spa under the stars while sheltered in the privacy and seclusion of the tall hemlocks. Later, the field stone fireplace and massive red cedar log mantle will provide a warm comfortable glow while you settle back into a comfortable easy chair with a book and perhaps a hot spiced cider. The oak floors are covered with warm braided rugs while the rich cedar log walls hold many unique photos and accents. The master bedroom boasts a queen-sized rice planter’s bed. Graywolf is filled with all the comforts that make it our home away from home. Our home is your home. We’d be delighted to have you come and visit. We make it available in all four seasons so that you can enjoy the unique characters of each. Graywolf makes for a perfect romantic getaway or a family retreat adventure that you’ll treasure forever.

- Full kitchen with all the amenities including coffee, hot chocolate, spiced cider and tea
- We provide all the paper products as well as many spices and condiments
- Lots of extras including kerosene lamps and lanterns, reading lights, candles, kids games etc.
- Full size gas grill on the back porch is well maintained
- DSS satellite (Multi-Premium channels) including music channels
- DVD player, VCR, CD/Cassette, TV with game input and a video library
- Air Conditioned in addition to the cool mountain breezes on the crest of Elk Ridge
